A small formal garden pond.
We began work on this pond
after the old stainless steel
canal shaped one sprang a leak.

The pre-formed liner is a small
rectangle with a marginal shelf
and bog plant areas in order
that the edges can be softened.

Where the rolled edges are exposed
under the fountain head and the
two long sides we are going to install
fairly straight pieces of white
driftwood from British Colombia.

Under the deck there is a filter,
ultra violet light and junction box
for the electrics. A spotlight in the
pond shines up onto the Gargoyle
fountain head. In the evening with
the shimmering water shadows
lighting up the white wall it looks
absolutely stunning.

Installing the pond was a real
headache as it is in a corner. The
big problem was not being able to
back-fill properly on the corner sides.
Thankfully these ponds are very light
in weight as it was taken in and out
dozens of times. If it had the mould
underneath, in other words making
a perfect rectangle the whole
process would have been far easier.

However it now has six goldfish
happily swimming around and some
Nasturtium Aquaticum, Veronica
Beccabunga, Iris Setosa, Fritillaria
Meleagris and a frog called Bob!
